Looking for work? Love Twitter? This latest job search engine seems like a great mix for many web-savvy or internet based jobseekers. Twitterjobsearch is a recent app that utilises the powerful Twitter API, which helps users search for jobs based on a keyterm and a location. And lets face it, any channel for finding an extra interview is worth persuing.

Try for example IT manager, London and you find a host of useful tweets that are advertising that current position. The engine works by scanning advertisers tweets, understanding certain keywords contained with them and returning them to a searcher.

The layout of the site is rather simple and sleek to use, it has a basic grey background and a Google-esque simplicity to it. Note that for some search results you get mixed up or jumbled results returned that shouldnt really be there, so you may have to try and few variations on keyword to find what you want.

The platform is no Jobsite or Monster, but it could be a great way for social media fans to find that niche job ad.

The illness which is thought to be a “hormone imbalance” has plagued Jobs for sometime and he has admitted to being ill for a number of months and losing weight gradually throughout 2008.

As the popular face of computer giant Apple, Jobs has already begun treatment for a supposed nutritional imbalance which may have caused his symptoms. Steve Jobs, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2004 has been seen as “a little off colour” at talks, sparking rumours about his general health.

Hugeley popular micro-blogging site Twitter has recently been plagued with a speight of attacks on some its high profile Twitter accounts such as CNN Broadcaster Rick Sanchez, US President Elect Barack Obama and pop nutbag Britney Spears.

The hackers gained access to accounts through a Phishing scam aimed at Twitter userswhich would allow them to enter their password and personal details, which could then be used by the hackers.

The celebrities awoke on Monday morning to find their Twitter accounts – which allows users to post short updates of less than 140 characters – with some bizarre and, in some cases pornographic messages.

Twitter allows for users to send messages to friends about what they are doing.

The fictional updates included a message from Mr Sanchez saying he would not be in work because he was high on crack, a link to free petrol from Mr Obama and some very personal statistics from Ms Spears. Although no actually harm was done, this is quite damaging to the popular blogging site, which is seen as the forefront of the new generation of social networking tools.

Twitter have now claimed to have suspended and secured all affected accounts, but recommend to not click on any links asking you to confirm your Twitter password, as this is likely to be a scam.

Imagination announced yesterday that Apple has acquired a 3.6 percent stake in the company, which will only cost Apple £3.2 million pounds. Imagination designs chip cores for a variety of applications, but its most prominent designs are its PowerVR cores for graphics in mobile phones.

The PowerVR cores seem to be of upmost interest to apple, and it is suggested these cores will power a whole new level of games in the future iPhone models meaning quicker, better and more advanced iPhone applications and games. As the race for mobile technology supremacy increases, this move by Apple shows their determination to come out on top.

This week we saw the release of the handy AdWords Editor 7.0 for both Mac and PC. The new version includes the long-awaited first page bid estimates (which tell you how much you need to bid to achieve a first page ad), your landing page quality score for any given keyword, along with several new updates to the Keyword Opportunities tool. Version 7.0 also provides the option to enable usage tracking, which lets Google collect anonymous statistics to help Google improve AdWords Editor, i would be tempted to turn this off if you want to stay slightly more anonymous.

The main reason i find the AdWords Editor tool useful is the ability to work offline and upload your campaigns in one go, this can be handy for when you are working on the move – visit the official google AdWords page to download the update, alternatively use the in-built automatic update feature in the programme.

In an incredible advancement in modern payment systems, one German supermarket will soon be offering payment by fingerprint!

An Edeka store in Ruelzheim, SW Germany has piloted the technology since November, cutting out on queuing time and the need for clunky cards and change. The fingerprint scanning software will revolutionise the way we shop, and seems to be extremely popular with the local shoppers.

After an highly anticipated trial, the company plans to extend the scanning software across its range of stores and if proved succesful, could also be implemented in more retail shops in the future.

Fingerprint scanner in use in Germany

Store manager Roland Fitterer said: “All customers need do is register once with their identity card and bank details, then they can shop straight away”. Although somewhat daunting at first, one shopper remarked “I find it even easier to shop now, you dont have to worry about leaving your wallet at home.”

The system is based around a central database which stores customers details, but has been backed by Edeka, who claim the system cannot be scammed. The chances of two people having identical fingers prints are about one in 220 million.

She’s big-busted, petite, very friendly and she runs on batteries. Let me introduce you to EMA, which stands for “Eternal Maiden Actualization”. The ultra-geeky robot has been created by games giant Sega, who foresee a huge boom in the artificial intelligence market in the next ten years.

Sega, best known for its home video game consoles and games such as Sonic the Hedgehog have introduced a 15-inch tall robotic ‘girlfriend’ that kisses on command, with a target market of lonely adult men. Ideally created to keep tech-heads and other lonely souls company, this weird contraption which was released in Japan in September is expected to sell over 10,000 units.

The EMA robot by Sega

“Strong, tough and battle-ready are some of the words often associated with robots, but we wanted to break that stereotype and provide a robot that’s sweet and interactive,” said Minako Sakanoue, a spokeswoman for the maker, Sega Toys to Reuters news agency.

“She’s very lovable and though she’s not a human, she can act like a real girlfriend.”

EMA can also hand out business cards, sing and dance which would be a real party piece!

The robot retails in Japan for around $175. Expect to see more weirdness like this in the next year or two! Maybe they can perfect the house cleaning robot?
