Magicland Dizzy is somewhat of a classic game for the Commodore 64. Dizzy was a huge franchise in Europe during the 8-bit era of gaming. Dizzy was for some strange reason an egg, with arms and legs, who was involved in all sorts of adventures, including rescuing his family, saving the world and all that jazz!
Magicland Dizzy is not one of the best Dizzy games, but up there as it is a great “Dizzy Style” Dizzy Game. The Dizzy series could be split into official games and spinoff games. The spinoff games explored a number of different styles of game, whereas the official games followed the same style of adventure games, with Dizzy negotiating platform areas to the game and solving various puzzles. The puzzles themselves arent terribly difficult, anyone with a little sense can often figure them out, although there are some areas which are fiendishly tough.
There are glimmers of humourn throughout the game and is not neccesarily targetted just at kids, one example would be were Dizzy finds Daisy, who is trapped in a room because of her expanding waistline – dizzy comments about it and is proposed to marry her which he struggles to find an answer to! Not lewd, but funny none the less. The music for the game is also somewhat mesmerising and charming, which adds nicely to the lighthearted nature of the game itself. Although the game is not particularly difficult, its still a fun C64 classic so if you can get a chance to play Magicland Dizzy i would highly recommend you do.
